Description
We sharpen detachable pruner and/or lopper blades. The most common one is made by Felco, but there may be a few others out there. These are the best blades that we know of that are worth sharpening. Eric personally likes to sharpen his Felco blades after 20hrs of continuous pruning. He writes ” It could go longer, but the extra carpel tunnel risk isn’t worth it! I learned this from personal experience as a grape pruner and would always have extra blades. I sharpened my two blades every weekend and would have more than enough sharpness to get me through the 40-50 hour work week of pruning.” For a home gardener with occasional use this may mean a blade lasts them six months or up to a few weeks on a small farm/orchard.
